Dr. Jerome Lejeune – Dr. Jerome Lejeune was a French geneticist who became famous in 1958 when he discovered the Trisomy 21 genetic condition responsible for causing Down Syndrome. In the early 90s, Dr. Lejeune showed that a single-celled zygote, even before it implants in the mother’s womb, has a full, unique, individual human genetic code.
